Meet the Braves - Rescheduled for August 30th

Due to inclement weather on August 23, Meet the Braves has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 30.

The Heard County Athletic Booster Club will hold it’s annual “Meet the Braves” at Heard County High School on the basefall field from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Come out for food, fun, and “Meet the Heard County Braves”.

Volleyball Team Wins Inaugural Match

The Heard County volleyball team won their inaugural match against Central-Carrollton High School on August 20. In game one, the Lady Braves defeated the Lions by the score of 25-9. Jessica Johnson scored eleven total points and Tonya Vaughn scored five in the victory. The second game was won by Central by the score of 26-24. The third game was also won by Central, who narrowly defeated the Lady Braves again by the score of 25-23. When game four was played, Heard County won, with a score of 29-27. The referee called the game at 26-27, but realizing his error he let the game continue. Heard County sided to get the twenty-eighth point, and served to win the game. In that game: Tonya Vaughn, Jessica Johnson, and Jessie Vassil are credited with six points a piece, and Arielle Scarborough had five total points. In game five, Heard County won, 15-12. Tonya Vaughn was the leading scorer with five points, and Jessica Johnson got three points.

Braves Defeat Bowdon in Scrimmage

Football - (Friday, August 15, 2008): The Heard County High School football team defeated the Bowdon Red Devils 13-6 in a preseason scrimmage on Friday night. Santez Emory scored on a 65 yard TD reception from Martez Winston. Freshman Jaquay Williams added a nine yard TD pass from Emory. The defense was led by Jeremiah Hill, Zach Janney, and Tony Hudson. Hill led the team with eight tackles, while Janney and Hudson each had seven.
