National Honor SocietyThe Stephen Heard Chapter of the National Honor Society organized at Heard County High School during the 2010-2011 school year. The chapter took its name in honor of Heard County’s namesake. Stephen Heard was a Revolutionary war hero and governor of early Georgia. The purpose of this chapter is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Heard County High School.
