Football Coaches (2007)

 

Head Coach - Tim Barron

The 2007 football season will mark Coach Barron’s sixth year as head coach for the Heard County Braves. During his first five years, Barron has managed to lead the Braves to three 10 win seasons, six state playoff games, a 42-15 record, and two region championships. Prior to arriving at Heard County High School, Barron coached at Alexander High School in Douglasville. Coach Barron, his wife Laura, and their 10 year old son, Austin, reside in Whitesburg.

 

D.J. Curbow


Coach Curbow has been the defensive coordinator at Heard County High School since arriving for the 2002 football season. Overall, Curbow is entering his fourteenth year as a football coach. Born in Mableton, Georgia, Curbow graduated from Mount Zion High School. After attending and graduating from the University of West Georgia, Curbow coached football at both Wayne County and Alexander High School. Curbow and his wife Lorena have two sons, Riley and Garrett, and a daughter, Cora Lee. Curbow and his family live in Newnan where they attend Crossroads Church. Coach Curbow also serves as Heard County
High School’s head girls’ track coach.

 

Randall Curbow


Arriving at Heard County High School prior to the 2002-2003 school year, offensive coordinator Randall Curbow has guided the Braves’ offense for the past five years. Curbow, a graduate of Bowdon High School, is originally from Mableton, Georgia. After graduation from the University of West Georgia, Curbow spent time coaching at both Bowdon and Alexander High Schools. Coach Curbow is married to Chassy, with two children; 4 year old Chance, and 2 year old Brooklyn.

 

Brian Hadley


Line coach Brian Hadley arrived at Heard County as part of Tim Barron’s staff for the 2002 football season. Hadley graduated from Thomasville High School which is located in his hometown. After high school, Hadley attended and graduated from the University of West Georgia. Prior to his arrival in Franklin, Hadley coached at both Villa Rica and Alexander High Schools. Hadley has one son, Brandon, who is 13. Hadley also serves as Heard County High School’s
head wrestling coach and teaches high school mathematics.

 

Heath Horn


A native of Roanoke, Alabama, Coach Horn is in his third year at Heard County High School. Horn attended Auburn University, where he earned his B.S. degree. Coach Horn has also attained a M.S. Ed. from Troy State and an Ed. D. from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to arriving at Heard High, Horn coached and taught in Bainbridge, Georgia for nine years. Coach Horn is married to Katie Horn who teaches in Roanoke. They have two children, Sara Kate (6) and Wyatt (4). Horn also serves as Heard County High School’s head baseball coach.

 

Shane Lasseter


Coach Lasseter is beginning his fifth year of coaching at Heard County High School. A graduate of Heard High, Lasseter graduated from the University of West Georgia. He is beginning his fourth year as defensive line coach and assisting with the offensive line. Lasseter and his wife Nickie reside in Roopville.

 

Brad McClain

 

Jody Pike


Coach Pike is from Roanoke, Alabama. He is a graduate of Handley High School and Auburn University. He is coaching the running backs, assisting with the defensive line and organizing the offense for the junior varsity team. His wife, Amanda, is a Heard County High School teacher and sponsor of the varsity cheerleaders. Coach Pike, Amanda and son, Nathaniel reside in Roanoke, Alabama.

 

Bobby Robertson


The 2007 football season marks Coach Robertson’s second season with the Heard County football program. The Braves’ wide receiver coach, Robertson also teaches mathematics at Heard High. Robertson has an extensive coaching resume that includes Norcross High School, as well as Wetumpka and Foley High Schools, both in Alabama. Robertson is happily married to his wife of five years, Amy, and has a son, Jack.
